Lesson 1.5: Getting Hosting and WordPress Installation

Goal of this Lesson:
Get your website live using Hostinger. You’ll set up hosting, install WordPress, and log in to your new site dashboard.

💡 Why Hostinger?

Hostinger is one of the easiest and most affordable hosting providers out there. I chose it for this course because:

  • ✅ It’s beginner-friendly

  • ✅ Includes fast, secure hosting

  • ✅ Has one-click WordPress install

  • ✅ Offers great value (plans starting under $3/month)

You can use any host you like, but I’ll be using Hostinger throughout the course to keep everything simple and aligned.

🔑 Step 1: Choose a Hosting Plan

Go to hostinger.com and choose a “Web Hosting” plan — I recommend the Premium or Business plan.

Once you’ve selected your plan:

  • Create your Hostinger account

  • Complete the purchase

Note: Some Hostinger plans may include a free domain. If so, you’ll have the option to claim that during setup — we’ll cover choosing your domain name in the next lesson.

⚙️ Step 2: Install WordPress (1-Click)

Once your hosting account is created, Hostinger will guide you through setting up your site:

  1. Choose “Install WordPress”

  2. Create your admin username and password

  3. Let it install

That’s it! In just a few clicks, you’ll have a brand new WordPress site ready to go.

🔐 Step 3: Log Into Your Site

After WordPress is installed, you’ll receive your login link.

It will look like this:

Yourwebsite.com/wp-admin

Log in using the admin credentials you created during setup.

🧪 Step 4: Visit Your Website

Type in your domain (even if it’s temporary for now) and you’ll see a basic WordPress site live online.

🎉 Boom! You now have a live site and a WordPress dashboard. You’re ready to start building.

✅ What You Should Have Now

By the end of this lesson, you should:

  • ✅ Have a hosting account with Hostinger

  • ✅ Have WordPress installed on your site

  • ✅ Know how to log into your site at /wp-admin

📎 Up Next

In the next lesson, we’ll go over your Setup Checklist to make sure your site is fully ready before we begin customizing.
